It's 6 on the 87' CR500, 573 on the 01' CR125. The TM250 is undecided. Having the same number for everything would make way too much sense ;-)

Today's Moto-Term is.................

I'm back, with another entry in the inconsistent life of this blog. anyway, Today's Moto-Term is.................
"Tie-Downs"

sure, everyone knows the usual meaning of this term, but in certain circles it had another connotation. for example, you're hanging out in the pits at Punkin' Center MX one Sunday, as your buddy pulls up in his truck with his bike in the back.

about that same time, a couple of pit tootsies stroll past. your buddy immediately leans out the window and says "… Continue

Today's Moto-Term is.................

Today's Moto-Term is................."Zoot Capri"! this one suggested by TVRC's very own Jack Thompson, or "JT" as he's commonly known. heck, I don't even remember where I first encountered this term. pretty sure it was used often in Dirt Bike Magazine or Motocross Action Magazine. it's kind of a generic term used to describe something/anything which is generally cool and appreciated. as an example (this is for "JT"!).... WHOA! check out that DKW Hornet. it's really ZootContinue

Today's Moto-Term is.................

Today's Moto-Term is.................back, but not by popular demand...., because nobody said a dang thing about the earlier demise of " Today's Moto-Term"! oh well, for today, let's go with "zip-tie". certainly not peculiar to MX only. nontheless, the zip-tie has has done for motorcycles what laces did for shoes, or pockets on the fronts of shirts, or......, well, you get the idea. honestly, who among us DOES NOT have a huge stash of zip-ties. Nuff' sai… Continue

"Dave's Action Photos"........North Texas racers could always count on Dave Livingston to be at the track each Sunday. He'd take photos all day and have plenty of "negative pages" (and magnifiers) for viewing the following week. Meanwhile, his wife ran the program out of their 65' Dodge van, taking orders and photo requests from Moms and Dads. The excellent black and white "Early California Inter-Am" photos on this site were taken by Dave.

"Banke pipe"............although he once had a shop on Ludelle Street, just off E. Lancaster, a Banke pipe was not something one used to smoke crack! originator of the "Snake Pipe", George provided a place for building of pipes, swinging-arms (as he called them!), engine porting, random buffoonery and shenanigans.

the list of riders who used Banke pipes and general characters who inhabited his shops is a long one, for sure! in addition to cranking out all manner of engine p… Continue

The large homes around there make me nervous, but I know the track was there long before them so hopefully they will not cause problems.

Thank you Chester! I love all the trees as well. I guess to me motocross is just supposed to be "over the hill and through the woods" and that is part of what is great about Burleson.
