Duncan was from my area, down the street from Kringboy. I remember he had one of the early Honda twin 125 with the aluminum tank, going for the high teens, low 20's now. He built a fast SL100(in theory) that would smoke the Hodaka's off the line, fa…

Yep remember all of them. Got all my Honda's from Honda Sales my first CL90 from the Josey Ln store. I got what may have been the first SL90s sold in Big D,a blue one, from Charles. Kring worked at that Shell station it was east of Denton Rd.

Duncan Paul was just a Cool Guy. Dave Rash was my boss when I built bikes for Honda North. At the store and the remote warehouse they had down off Harry Hines, Manana Ln. I think. I remember a Saturday morning we had just built the first CB500 a Bro…

Wow, what a collection of cool cards. Still got a small stack of yellow 'Universal Products' stickers in one of my tool boxes. Dallas Suzuki moved into the building on Harry Hines right after 'Honda Sales of Dallas' moved out and over onto north Ste…

That was off his Facebook when he added me on. He trail rides. I haven't talked to him in a few years but he has done well business wise. I sold him a 69 CL 90 I had years ago. He has a big house up here in Flower Mound I heard was about 7k sg ft with a big barn full of bikes.
Mike McManus called me about a week ago, said he has horses now up in the Oak Hill area.

Richard,
It was great to see you the other day getting of the Plane to Dallas. Would like to talk some more some time and catch up with you. Always enjoyed the times working with you at Race Ready.

Hey. Is this "Racin Richard" from the old days at Irving Suzuki?

I certainly remember the trip to North Carolina and Florida. That poor Econoline Van barely made it. Fun times though. I hope all is well with you. I guess you still ride some. My poor knees couldn't handle the MX stuff.

Now I cant find the photo. Hey that is a cool jersey 000 0032, I held on to a ton of that stuff and tossed it 10 years ago, I kick myself.

Richard, too cool that you did a little drag racin too. I also drag raced, although in cars from 64 to 66. Even won the nationals in 66, but thats all another story. Hey, those old 450s could be made to run pretty hard. And the 230 Ossa Wildfires were fast as crap too, just bone stock!! They were light and handled fairly well also. I always wanted to road race one, but was always too into motocross to do much else. They were fast tho. A stiletto head gasket, a 32mm dual needle IRZ carb and a decent pipe, and I think they would've hauled ass !! Even with stock ports and port timing etc. What all did yall do with the one you drag raced ? I talked to my brother John, and yes he did remember your name and that you worked at Honda North back in the day. Duncan Paul is still teaching school too. Hope to see you at the banquet, and me and Pickard are planning a big trail ride and/or camp out the last of Jan. up at Munster. Hope you can make it.

OK, I thought I had the right face with the name. you're a pretty tall guy. Gene and Betty sponsored me from mid 75' through 77'. they're great folks. those Dobermans creeped me out, though. Lucky was still mechanic at Irving, back then, until he started his own gig. saw him at a benefit for Lynn Nickerson in July 07'. the guy hasn't aged at all. any idea about the Skaggs' whereabouts, these days?

dear God..., is this a rotary "Zed"? please don't let Jack see it! it does appear to be one of the early CZ "monoshock" models with the suspension mounted there between the horn, and below the tank. ; ) sparkplugs?

Hodakas are just weird. this is no exception. notice the rear shocks, dead vertical, just like the "Stupor" Rat.

This could be a '76, even a '77 model, I think. Haslet Joe has a '77 on the stand right now, and it looks just like it. His has leading axle forks, but his manual says it came with straight legs. New fenders installed by yours truly, and yes, they a…

It must be fast because the front motor mount was engineered for the extreme Greeves power. I believe MKA went to school was Charlie Greeves and will have something German to say on the subject. Martin "poking the bear" Brazil
