The guy in the back row next to Gary Reid is either Terry or Barry Stevens, never quite knew which was which.

I remember goin up and down the 'mountain' on the cross country course, which was probably the same as the MX course. They also ran the CC races in reverse at times and you could SAIL down the 'mountain'. Man it was great fun! That's a great picture…

the MX track did go up top and had a fairly long straight up there, hung a left, and then came back down via a rocky sheer drop, over a jump and through the creekbed, then out into the flat, open meadow on the bottom. they did run it backwards once…

Craig, that was a great cross country track. They ran you down through the woods and creeks on the bottom then ran you up on top of the hills, then fly back down some hill someplace back down to the bottom part of the course. Very fun course. Yes, t…

JJ, I raced Midado several times, mostly in 73', maybe a few in 74'. don't remember them ever paying $$ for an MX. could be wrong, though. I know Bobby Hickey showed up with a brand new 125 Elsinore in 73'. had to race 125 Intermediate because they…

I'm thinkin that front row, L to R is Steve Whitworth, Jim Sutton, Matt Wortham, and Charlie Pelton (deceased) Yeah, back row, far left is Gary. Not sure about the others. This looks to be late 72, maybe early 73. Whitworth was fast on a 125 Zundapp…

Hey David, Been a long time. I sure had a good time back in the day racing you. We sure had some races back then. I remember the GNC runoffs where we went to Rio Bravo and it had rained 5 inches and I had the best pick on the gate because of pionts and got the holeshot and crashed no less than 10 times and didn't move on. Thats was the most pissed I ever was racing. Just couldn't race that track in the mud. Mosier Yes Rio No. I am sure you remember some of our encounters as well. Sure was fun and a big part of my life. Take care, JIM

Hodakas are just weird. this is no exception. notice the rear shocks, dead vertical, just like the "Stupor" Rat.

A FRIEND OF MINE IN H.S. HIS DAD HAD ONE OF THESE THINGS, IT WAS COOL LOOKING BUT WAS REAL SLOW..... ITS A TRIALS BIKE. BUT THAT THING WOULD CLIMB A TREE. WE USED TO RIDE WITH HIM ON THE TRINITY RIVER TRAILS BEHIND BURTON HILL. WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW W…

It is a 76 - the 77s were blue

This could be a '76, even a '77 model, I think. Haslet Joe has a '77 on the stand right now, and it looks just like it. His has leading axle forks, but his manual says it came with straight legs. New fenders installed by yours truly, and yes, they a…

It must be fast because the front motor mount was engineered for the extreme Greeves power. I believe MKA went to school was Charlie Greeves and will have something German to say on the subject. Martin "poking the bear" Brazil

anyone who ever went fast on a Greeves has my admiration!

1975 model? Mark Pledger went plenty fast on one of these, for a while. David Greenhill also did his share of damage to Jap bikes riding a machine like this.
