Bill, as I remember, there were only 2 motos in the Jr. class. On Sat. the 9th, I went 1-1 in the 250 class. On Sun. the 10th, I won yhe firdt heat in the open Jr. and had a good lead in the 2nd moto when I hit a rock and bent the shift lever around the foot peg. The tranny was in 3rd gear and I could not shift up or down. I continued for another lap then pulled off the track and tried to kick it back out straight, all the time holding the clutch in and trying to not let the engine die. I finally took off again ( numerous people had passed me by then) still locked in 3rd gear, and limped in the next lap to finish way down. With the 1st moto win and the dismal finish in the 2nd, I had enough points to finish 3rd for the day in open Jr. class. Thanks Bill for the interest.

He want's an old style mini and sent me that pic. Not sure if that is what the market wants so I'm fishing for some idea's. The Honda copies have already been done. Think he wants a cheap unit to sell our gocart dealers.

Too cool what you found for Mark & Joe. Good work.

Hey Bill- Thanks for the info on Hartwig, Ed Terrell and I both marvelled at his speed on that Husky, hate to hear about his back injury ending his career because he really had a bright future ahead of him. I remember the names Tom Volin and especially Russ Darnell from very early on.

Hey Bill, sorry to take so long to get back to you, but I just had my right hip joint replaced with the newest, best (lets hope) ceramic type. Re-hab will be 6-8 weeks, they tell me. So I should have plenty of computer time on my hands. I have 2 older brothers, Johnnie and Jimmie. We came from San Angelo, Tx and Johnnie was a motorcycle racer in the mid to late 50s and early 60s. He also had a BSA and Maico dealership there in town. My dad had 6 uncles, they all came from West Monroe, La, , so maybe a long, lost 2nd or 3rd cousin or something. Not aware of any Frank close around though.

Hey Bill, are you going to attend the KOH race this weekend,i have an 83 YZ 125 that me nor my retired machinist engine builder can figure out,i would like a YZ guy to listen and give any ideas, has a noise in the motor on deacceleration, sounds great going up,we completely rebuilt motor, all new bottom end bearings, new top end, raced it once, started noticing noise, tore it back apart, looked like piston may have been touching head, put a head that had`nt been milled on it,different cases, one of the main bearings was slightly loose in the case half,we have been in motor 3 times, still have a slight noise, need a YZ guys ear and opinion,PLEASE! I might have to give it a shot. Is it easy to replace the spring? The bike worked really well out at RV the other day but the track was real smooth.

I have never heard of Orange County Cycle but I might have to try that. Is it good to go or does it need to be rebuilt?

I have to admit I'm not a super fan of Hannah, but I did see some of the greatest come from behind rides from him. I know Johnny O' put in a great `125 ride in the MXD on a dry track, but I got to see Hannah's 125(a true 125!) ride in the mud and hi…
