yes, that was Jeff on the mini-trail.

you're probably right about the poster. now that I think about it, the one I spoke of was a magazine ad.

Craig, I'm thinkin he was just standin by an XR 75, and it was all gray, and had 'XR75' on the number plate. But I might be mistaken and full of bull (Hey, it could happen) Seems like I took the poster after the Honda shop was ready to take it down after it was on the showroom wall for 6 months or so. It was pinned to my wall in my garage for several years after that. Mighta been several posters of him and an XR75 ???

JJ, that poster you're thinking of was actually lil' Jeffy on a 1975 XR75 (red tank and silver fenders). showed him as # 3x beating the others off the gate.

Paulie - I saw Jeff when he did win @ Texas International. after the race I'm standing next to Skip Franks who's talking to some dude, and the guy mentions Jeff having raced MX. Skip asks the guy how he knew that. Dude says that he used to ride MX in North Texas. turns out the guy is Mitch Grimes.

What a long body of great work Jeff has had and still seems to be a decent grounded guy. I don't think I ever heard anyone say a negative thing about him. I went to Ca in 78 for the first time to try the 125 National and that was his pro debut. I remember he was about 4'8" at the time and couldn't touch the ground on the RM he rode, his Dad had to have a block for him to stand on for the start. Think he got a 6th or 7th in his first pro ride in a class loaded with star's and fast privateers.
I'm still a fan that thought he got cheated out of an Indy 500 win.

The bike looks like it's set up for the Perris TT scrambles or something.

Funny seein him on a Yamaha. I remember the poster they (Honda) sent us in 1973 of him on a 73 XR75, National Mini-Bike Champ I think that year. This picture is evidently a little earlier and some kind of championship trophy. Bet Craig knows the whole story.

This could be a '76, even a '77 model, I think. Haslet Joe has a '77 on the stand right now, and it looks just like it. His has leading axle forks, but his manual says it came with straight legs. New fenders installed by yours truly, and yes, they a…

It must be fast because the front motor mount was engineered for the extreme Greeves power. I believe MKA went to school was Charlie Greeves and will have something German to say on the subject. Martin "poking the bear" Brazil

1975 model? Mark Pledger went plenty fast on one of these, for a while. David Greenhill also did his share of damage to Jap bikes riding a machine like this.
