beware to all who read this. ol' Jack just got himself a 74' KX 125. he's just snoopin' for spy information here. wants to know how bad he's gonna have to cheat to make a run for "KOH 09'"!!!!

personally, I'm involved woth a "skunk works" machine that will strike fear into the hearts of small-bore fans the world over. a DKW Boondocker frame (w/ leading link front end) mated to a 72' Montesa Cappra engine. that's right, baby...., power and handling. this one will have none of it!

Yes folks Craigster is correct. Its not about the win but about the fun.If Mr. Knight has fun on a Deek with a Capra motor then may i suggest.Craig "Really does know"

OK...... what is the year limit ? And cc limits for 2 strokes, cc limits for 4 strokes, or ? You know me, I'm gonna build a 4 stroke Honda, just for kicks. I got an old 81 Honda XR200 4stroke. Is this too late model ? It is a twin shock, drum brake, air cooled, but is 200cc 4stroke too big to run with the 125 hot rods and 175cc CA 2 strokes ? I got a 79 or so XL 185 Honda also that I could build........ Is 185cc 4 stroke fair against 125-175 2 strokes ? I wanna build something fair and acceptable to all concerned. These Hondas really are trail bikes and not racers, but the challenge to make them competetive with the racers is what's really fun to me. Gimme some parameters, and I promise to show up and try to finish maybe in the top 10, which would be very acceptable to me, considerin the 'hot shoes' I'm gonna have to line up with !!

Wow Craig, What a concept. A bike that will handle, and make more than 1/4 lap without missing 2 or 3 shifts ! I bet it'll be fast too.

I understand a new rule was instituted this year for KOH,last years winner has to start turned around backwards!

Joe , i hate to say it, but for vintage koh its gonna take a sl125, craig has one talk to him

OK Jack, that's cool. That's what I need to know. I got a 72 SL125 that I am currently tearin down to restore. How big can I go, cc wise, to be 'legal' and fair to run against 125&175cc 2 strokes.

Joe Check with the Pres. But i would say since it is a Sl125- the skys the limit.Tvrc was founded on the premise Motocross for the fun of it.You were there then you remember. The way Bill and i used to make decisions was "in the spirit of vintage motocross" there are no rules for vintage racers unless someone really gets out of hand. The whole idea is fun.I started the Koh forum so that we could have a great race later in the year.Im glad you are part of it.

Great Bill, my goal with this forum was to take us all back to our roots.Smallbore Vintage 125s.If we can get it going we can have qualifiers for the final.I expect 30 koh entrys. Bring it on.

Dang Jack......30 riders? Crap, that means that the best I can expect is 28th or 29th place. I can't come home and tell my neighbors that I finished 28th or29th ! They all think I'm crazy to still be tryin to do all this stuff at my age anyway.

JJ, check with Ken on this, but I think 200cc is the upper limit for KOH bikes. I know you can make an SL 125 roar!

Joe,
I would think a early XL175 would be legal to start with as long as it stay under the 200cc limit. Wouldn't run with a 200 Bul but it is the best 4T you can start with.
Any truth to the rumors that TLC or maybe Reeves had a CR 175 going in the day?

Richard Martin(Michael's brother) at the back, #23 on his monark. I remember being intimidated by the big guy #14, because of his size. Never saw him after the gate dropped. #27 is'nt Robbie or Sean, but I can't remember who it is.

As told before, In 90 I went to the AHRMA race in Livermore,Ca and someone had a titanium frame for the sl100/125 that was used by either Baker or Petty(?) in one of the desert races, for $350 !! I think they said it weighed about 17/18 lbs, less th…
